Well jeeeeeeeeeeeez, it’s been quite a while huh?
Let’s see what the ol’ net worth is doing these days.
I’m your host Jonny F, and this is Late Twenties and Broke. Have a seat!
My last net worth update was when I did my taxes, back in March 2024. Since then I’ve travelled the world, partially on my dime and partially on my employer. But a lot of it was at my expensve! Haha. Including 3 unscheduled trips to Canada.
Could I have saved more? 100%. Do I regret visiting home so many times this year? Not in the slightest. After barely being home for so many years, it was important that I see my parents (especially as they get to wiser and wiser ages.)
So how has my net worth changed since March? Bitcoin surged up again, I unloaded my BNB, Palantir shot up (for no good reason, it’ll drop back down), and uh….I bought a lot of plane tickets on my 0% interest, 2% cashback credit card.
Without further ado, let’s dig into the numbers.
To jog your memory, this was March 2024:
PLTR | |
KO | |
DOW | |
VZ | |
MO | |
TM | |
RITM | $55.46 (4.94 shares) This is a daily $6 buy for me, but I’ve only been at it about 10 days haha. Big dividend percentage though – that’s why I want to grow this one. |

BNB coin | |
DOGE (Sold) | Soldddddddddddddd. Finally got that off my books. Watch, it’ll go 10x 2025 now that I don’t have it anymore haha. |
Silver Coins&Bars | $2,000 (Haven’t purchased any precious metals in years) |

And now, we’ll do the real update with Dec 2024’s numbers:
And now, let’s dig into March 2024’s numbers:
PLTR | Crazy jump! This is just pumped up, it will drop like a rock at some point. Share price is $66.94, for no reason. That being said, I am 100% okay with my calls being executed at the $35 mark – $150 profit per 100 shares is totally fine with me. I was underwater on this position 6 grand for years haha. |
KO | |
DOW | |
VZ | |
MO | |
TM | |
STRC, name changed to PDYN (Palladyne) | Last update it went from $68 to $168, and now jumped to $679. Probably I should sell this one? Or just let this lottery ticket keep going. I dunno. |
KULR | Bought at 69 cents a share because my friend bought it and told me about it, fully thinking it wouldn’t go anywhere. It went from $69 to $115, which is a 65% jump (kinda crazy), but really only $46 haha. |
ME (23AndMe) | $53.25 (15 shares) I bought 100 shares of this when it was hovering around 50 cents. But less than a month later, they did a reverse 6 to 1 split and artificially raised the price. As of today it is $3.55/share and I only have 15 shares instead of 100 – so I can’t sell calls. The whole reason I buy these lottery ticket stocks is so I can sell calls haha, while also waiting for long term appreciation and a good exit point. |
Bitcoin | Up another 10 grand! Damn. I actually sold my BNB for a total of $2,100 USD, but it was stuck in a series of wallets and exchanges and weird tokens (USDT SmartChain), until the easiest option was just to put in Bitcoin. |
BNB coin | Sold! For $2,100. |
Silver Coins&Bars | $2,000 (Haven’t purchased any precious metals in years) |
Employer 401K | |
RRSPs trapped in Canada | $3,219 USD. |
TSLA stock trapped in Canada | $5,183 USD |
Chequing | |
Savings | |
Savings Certificate | |
Total Assets | Damn. That’s a nice jump right there. |

Credit Card #3 | $0. |

December 2024 Total: | |
Well hot damn, this is my first time being worth $100 grand.
It’s crazy – I really smashed that goal and achieved that. When I first started this blog, oh my God. I was really worth like $29,000. That was in October 2021, just 3 years and 2 months ago.
My net worth in April 2022 was $44,000 though. So in 2 and a half years, I was able to improve my net worth by 243%, or said a different way, I was able to flip my net worth 2.43 times.
What were my biggest gains?
1. Bitcoin, for sure
2. Relentless 10% monthly contributions to my 401K, with 5% employer match.
3. Always putting in the effort to pay down my stupid credit cards so I don’t get ripped off ungodly bad (just regular bad) on interest payments.
4. Always having my money working, having my capital EMPLOYED. If I left all my cash in my basic chequing account, it would not have grown like this. And the whole time, over those 3 years, it would be losing its’ buying power and the monetary supply of US dollars continues to expand and dilute itself. I mean, how much of my gains are merely inflation masquerading as gains? Haha.
Well that’s plenty of typing for today. And plenty of math, too. My next moves will be:
- Continuing the daily buy for RITM, and pretty soon, enjoying the dividends.
- Unloading my STRC (now PDYN) and moving that money into a dividend stock. Which one? Well I wish Dividend Pig was still active! Hahaha. I would just copy his picks for the month.
- Paying off my credit card (again.)
- Increasing the amount sitting in my savings account (emergency fund) and also max out my savings certificate at the bank. It maxes out at $3,000 though, so I’d only be parking another $400 there. But still, why not.
That’s it for me folks, thank you for reading along. If you’re 29 and you think it’s too late to start – just start.
Remember, I’m rooting for ya.
Until next time, I’m your host Jonny F and this is Late Twenties and Broke.
